BEACH ESSAY

A Tranquillity Nothing Can Compare

The golden rays of the sun kissed my skin as it peeks through the window of my small room. I walked towards the window and it squeaked as I slowly opened its old yet firm arms. Cool, sea breeze entered my room and caressed my body as a welcome to another great day.
Mouth-watering aroma of fried rice and “tuyo” lingered in my nostrils as I set foot in our dining room, teasing me.
After breakfast, I run outside our house, thrilled to devour the splendour and simplicity of our province that the city lights failed to make me feel.
“Purity and simplicity are the two wings with which man soars above the earth and all temporary nature.”Thomas Kempis. Simplicity brings balance, freedom, and joy. When we begin to live simply and experience these benefits, we begin to ask the next question, “Where else in my life can I remove distraction and simply focus on the essential?”
My feet take me to the seaside. The white-sand beach hypnotizes me with its crystal clear water, the tall coconut trees aligned dances with the rhythm of the wind, the waves calling me to take a dip.
I hear the crashing waves collide against the shore with their relaxing, rhythmic splashes like smooth jazz. The sand, as white and pure as snow, extends along the whole expanse of the seashore.
Walking towards the water, feeling the pure white sand under my weight, a feeling of excitement embraces me. Slowly, as I touch the water lightly, a feathery kiss jolted my fingertip. Ahh the water is incredibly inviting as the crisp breeze added to the delight.
Stepping into the water, I feel its cool touch envelop my legs and slowly rise up my body as I wade out farther into the sea. I miss plunging in this blue, bitter-salt ocean.  Water is dripping through my body as I rise back to the surface.
My eyes followed the sea, resting, sleeping peacefully unto the horizon. Everything was calm and serene. I melted ; feeling of contentment envelops me.
